Format Pivot Table

I have a pivot table that has an Auto Format applied. This gives me the
following results:

Location State Category Status
Count
Plant 1 Location
IN
Fullttime-Reg
Active
7
KY
Fulltime-Reg
Active
10
Layoff
2
Fulltime-Temp
Active
10
Plant 1 Count
29

As you can see this is very spread out and a little difficult to follow. Is
there a way to design this so that more data stays on one line and
consolidates this report? Such as:

Location State Category Status
Count
Plant 1 Location IN Fulltime-Reg Active 7
KY Fulltime-Reg Active
10
Layoff
2
Fulltime-Temp Active
10
Total Plant 1
29

It would need to stay this way when refreshed also. Thanks for any help
anyone can offer.

Right click on Your State or ??? and select Field Settings -> Layout. Change
the option from Tabular to Outline and it will compress your pivot table as
you describe. it might take a bit of work to get things just right as
compressing the table sometimes makes the auto format do strange things...
