Format painter mouse icon missing

Dan

Normally when the format painter is activated the mouse
icon changes to a fat cross with a brush. But now it
doesn't. The mouse icon stays as the default arrow even
when hovering over, selecting and "painting" cells.
Deselecting the painter and the mouse icon reverts to a
fat cross when over cells.

The function still works fine but I miss my brush!

Searching this NG there is a thread subject "Stupid
Question" Aug 99 with reports of similar, but no solution.

TIA for advice, (XL97)
Dan

Gord,

That's fixed it.
Excel must be re-started to take effect.
Wasn't necessary for me, worked as soon as I checked the
option and closed the dialog.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure I never unchecked this option, must
be one of those things.

Thank you very much,
Dan
