Format Painter default action

Is there a way to set the Format Painter's default action to copy the
formatting to more than one item? Right now I have to double-click the
icon to enable this action, but I'd rather set this action to a single
click.

You might find it more convenient to use the Copy Formatting (Ctrl+Shift+C)
and Paste Formatting (Ctrl+Shift+V) keyboard shortcuts. When you copy
formatting this way, it remains available for pasting indefinitely (until
you copy a different format).

Is it just me who wonders what we're coming to as a society when
"double-click" as opposed to "click" is perceived as even a *negligibly
minor* inconvenience?:)
