I need help in formatting hard drive for win2000.
I tried it by going to Ms-Dos, but it says that it is
locked and that is in use.
How can I format it?
I thank you in advance for your kind support.

Boot from the CD or the 4 setup diskettes and start the W2k install.
Early on, it will give you the opportunity to delete/create/format any
partition(s) you like on any or all drives. Do what you want.

Then abort that install and reboot as above, and do the real install.
(This restart will avoid any unexpected drive letter assignment, like
your system winding up on F: instead of C:).

right click on My Computer icon
choose Manage
then Disk Management
do you see the drive in disk manager?
is it allocated and formatted?
answer may be there, let me know...
