Form Question?: Field and Label seem to be linked in design view

Good morning all...,

I'm adapting the 'Customer Service' template from Access 2007 to track
incidents handled by our IT dept.

Some labels and fields ('ID_Label' and 'ID' in the Case Details form for
example) appear to be linked; that is clicking on one control will cause it's
mate to highlight with a dashed line..., or resizing one resize the other
automaticall.

Is there a way de-linking these controls ?

Right-Click on the control in design view, then click Layout > Remove.
