Form published but can't reopen

I've followed the steps to publish my custom form to the org forms library,
but when I try to re-open a created item (a customized 'post' in this case),
I only get the default 'post' form, not the custom form I used to create the
item. The custom form is set as the default form to use for all items in the
public folder, and I can create a new item just fine using the custom form
from the bottom on the Action list, but I'm baffled why it does not
load/present the custom form when I reopen an item. Any clues?

Did you configure the form to use separate compose and read layouts?
