Form Problems

Sally

I have a form that someone created at work. (This person
does not work there anymore) It has FORMTEXT fields
inserted. When I type something into the field, it changes
to an underline, almost like a hyperlink. I can't get rid
of the underline. Also, after typing text into the field
it creates a dashed line across the document that is
connected to the text and at the end of the dashed line,
opposite the text field, is a rectangular box that
notes "Deleted:{FORMTEXT}
Anyone know what this is all about? Thanks

Hi Sally,

This is happenning because you have "Track Changes" turned on. Double click
on the TRK button in the bottom toolbar to turn it off.

Thank you for your help - I wasn't able to double-click
it - although I right clicked it and thought I turned
everything off. Now when I type something it puts a
strikethrough through the {FORMTEXT} and the text I'm
typing is placed to the right of the {FORMTEXT}.
Intially I thought this form was protected and I did
a "save as" and saved it as a different name. If a form
is protected, is that one way of circumventing the system,
so to speak?

Thanks again

Hi Sally,

The Track Changes suggestion may not have been correct because it now
appears as if you may have turned it on.

For the formfields to work, the document must be protected.

I am not really sure what was causing the original problem, but if you want
to email the document to me I will take a look at it for you.

Please respond to the newsgroups for the benefit of others who may be
interested.

Hope this helps
