Using Word 2003

Is there a way to make a form that I can e-mail and have somebody else fill
it in - so that they have a limited amount of space to type within each
category.

Yes,

Use a table to create the form you want and format it, leaving cells for
what details you will be asking.

Use form fields toolbar to insert fields: text fields, number, date, radio
buttons, checkboxes. You can give them characteristics: checked or not
checked, F1 help, obligatory or not, max length, default text etc.

Use the padlock on the form fields toolbar to lock the form.

Close the form fields toolbar.

Send the form by email.

When the recipient gets it, they will only be able to fill it in and the TAB
key will jump them from one field to another.

They must save it before sending it back to you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mako. It helps a lot.
But how do I make the text wrap to the next line in a cell to prevent the
column from stretching out?
I have 4 columns set to a preferred width. Under Table Properties, Cell,
Options I have checked "Wrap Text"
But still the column stretches to fit the text the user types in.

Do you have auto resizing turned off for the table? Table Properties | Table
| Options and clear the check box or Table | AutoFit | Fixed Column Width.

This worked well. Thank you.
BUT
It looks great on the screen, but when I print the page, the cells in the
column of descriptions, where no data will be entered, are all jumbled up,
words from one row overlapping into the next row.

Any ideas?
