Form and Subform

I am trying to create a Form and link a Subform to it. I have the main data
source in the Form Header (basically a list of names from a Query), and I
have the results of the Query in the Detail area of the Form. I keep getting
a message that reads 'You can't use a pass-through query or a
non-fixed-column crosstab query as a record source for a subform or
subreport'. I am just using a regular select query in this case, so this
message doesn't seem to make any sense. I've done this before, on another
data set, and I can't figure out what the problem is this time. if someone
can give me some insight into this issue I would really appreciate it!!

Thanks so much,
Ryan---

I guess I don't understand the relationship between Forms and Subforms.
Every time I try to add a Subform to my Form, I get a message saying that I
can't add a pass-through query... I am not adding a pass-through query;
that's what I don't understand...

I found this link to be helpful:
http://www.techonthenet.com/access/subforms/link.php

I thought I was doing the same thing as described here, but mine just
doesn't work.

Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong. I have the book by Roger
Jennings and I also have the book by John Viescas.

Thanks,
Ryan---
