Forgot the Darn Password

My eight year-old son has a Windows XP system and has
forgotten his password. Since I can't seem to figure out
what it is, I can't get his PC to boot up. Can anyone
help me get around this issue?

turn on your PC
then presss & hold the "F8"key
at MS advanced startup options "arrow-up" (with the arrow
keys)all the way up to highlite "safemode"
with safemode highlited, press the "enter"key two times
at the safemode loggon promt choose the admin account.
assuming the desktop loads up, navigate to the control
panel. choose the control panel icon labeled "user
accounts" when it opens double click your sons account
& choose "remove password". then reboot pc & windows
should load again (if the admin account is password
protected you may need a windows xp cd)

Well bill im pretty sure your either year old son didnt
set an administrator password. When the computer boots
up press F8 until you see a screen with options pop up
then click on Safe Mode, when you get to the log on
screen Administrator should already be in the user name
spot and the password is usually administrator, admin, or
nothing. When you log on you can delete his old account
and make a new one. I suggest making a password reset
disk when you get everything straightened out
