Force users to Logoff

I have many users that don't logoff before leaving the office and in
turn they leave files open that don't get backed up at night. How can
I force all users to logoff every night?

First you need to open the user account in active directory and change the
logon hours. if you are doing this to all user accounts then i would use
the tool "Admodify .Net" from microsoft to make mass changes instead of one
by one. then on your gpo you need to enable the setting "computer config >
windows settings > security settings > local policies > security options"
and enable the setting "Network security: Force logoff when logon hours
expire"

This simply closes the connection to the server, but DOES NOT log the user off nor does it close any files
