Force new IE Window with shortcut link

Paul

Hello,

I have several web links saved as shortcuts on my
desktop, I want to be able to force a new IE window every
time I double click one of these shortcuts. Would someone
be kind enough to let me know if/how this can be done?

many thanks.

Hi,
Right click the shortcut> Properties> Target. Add the path to IExplore.exe
to the target, so that it becomes (for example)
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://www.yahoo.com
Note the space between EXE" and http.

If this doesn't work:
Find IEXPLORE.EXE on your machine.
Create a shortcut to iexplore.exe on the desktop.
Add the URL to Properties> Target so that you end up with
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://www.yahoo.com
Rename the shortcut

Hope this helps,
Don

Uncheck the (default) Advanced tab option
Reuse windows for launching shortcuts

The F1 help for that option is not particularly clear.
See if this article helps more:
