Hi, again, Steve;

It seems as though I'm missing something somewhere. I opened an .xls file
in Excel, saved it as a .htm file (Excel 2003 would not let me save it as an
..html file) by clicking File>Save in Excel 2003. Then, I imported the saved
..htm file into the html folder in FP2002. But when I tried to drag the
..htm into an open page, it only allowed me to insert a hyperlink or open the
file, neither of which were what I wanted. All I need is to get the text
out of five columns in an Excel file. I don't want the file itself and I
don't want the file to serve as a web page.

How can I import or copy or duplicate by any means necessary to get the text
out of an .xls file into a single large cell of one page in FP2002?

with the Excel file open in Excel, click File > Save as, and then save the
page as html.
Then import the html page into your web.

Aah, I thought you wanted the entire file.

To only get "part" of the text from an Excel file, highlight the part you want, copy, and then paste
into Notepad, and then copy and paste from Notepad to your web page.

You will probably have to do some formatting of the text afterwards.

Or:
Copy and paste the "section" into a new .xls file, and then save the new .xls file as a html file.

Is there any way to do that and still maintain the separate column structure
that I have in Excel?

The next answer should do it. "I think"

FYI
Excel lets you save the selected range as a html page too
