Thanks for your previous post (see below). Which of these 4 methods is
easiest and the one I should concentrate on? I have little to know success
with any of the 4 ways. I am slightly learning disabled but feel I should be
able to do it. I am feeling more frusteration daily at my failed attempts.
THANKS

#1
You could drag / drop images into as many
cells as you wish and after the collage is
complete you could remove the unwanted
cells. (right click / delete).

The remaining images can be resized by
dragging the corner handles and repositioned
by hovering your pointer over the image until
you see the 4 way arrow...then you can left
click drag the image into position.

Also, a selected image can be nudged into
position using your arrow keys.

#2
Create a New Blank Canvas...Ctrl / N...

Next... go to...Format / Resize Image...enter the
size you require for the blank. (probably 8.5x11)

Now you can Drag / Drop as many or as few
images on the canvas as you wish.

#3
Also...if you open your images and go to...
File / Print / Print Multiple...you will find a large
assortment of templates.

#4
If you go to...File / Create A Project...you will
find some useful pre-formatted Album Pages
and Collages.

Hi,

I guess this is the question we are discussing?

===
I have Digital Image Suite 10. I see how to do
a collage for 7 pictures or more. Is there a way
to do a collage for 3 pictures? Thanks for
instructions how to if possible.
===

All of the methods should produce a satisfactory
result but I guess #2 could be the easiest way to
create a three image collage.

Try the following steps.

Open Digital Image Pro 10.

Open the three images you wish to include in
the collage.

To create a New Blank Canvas...press and hold
your Ctrl key and press your N key. This will place
a 4x6 blank in your work area.

Now you need to resize your Blank...
Go to...Format / Resize Image...uncheck...
"Maintain Proportions"...enter 8.50 in the Width
field and 11.00 in the Height field...click Done.

Now you can left click / drag the images from
your Stack to the New Blank Canvas. Once the
images are on the canvas...you can resize them
by left click selecting them and dragging the corner
handles. They can be repositioned by hovering
your pointer over the image until you see the 4
way arrow...then you can left click drag the image
into position.

Also, a selected image can be nudged into position
by using your arrow keys.

Another way and possibly even easier is to go to...
File / Create a project / Albums / Collages...
Choose one of the pre-formatted projects that has
three cells.

Drag and drop your images onto the collage...
resize / reposition as needed and click Next / Done.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

From my main screen I click on the Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10Suite . I
have 5 choices to click:

Open, Import Pictures, Digital Image Library, Edit Mulitiple Pictures, and
Create A Project. I have tried several of them and can't get the thumbnail
pictures to drag in. I get 1 big picture and 1 thumbnail instead of all 3 i
select. In some cases I get none. I guess I need to know where to start
from and more specific instructions. I did get the canvas size changed
properly. Thanks for your help and your patience. It is really frustarting
for me and it upset me even more to think how stupid everyone must think I
am. Thanks for your help. Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,

I don't think you are stupid....we all have to learn.

When you first open DIP10...you are seeing the
"Startup Window". Uncheck the "Show on startup"
box (bottom left corner) and then click the "Close"
button. Now you won't have to see that screen
anymore.

Also...if you are getting the "Tour" screen...Uncheck
the "Show on startup" box and then click the "Close"
button.

Now...the next time you open the program you will
go directly to your main work area.

Now...you need some images to work with.

Go to...File / Open...this will open your "File Browser".
On the "All Files" tab you can navigate to the folder
where you have your images saved and open the
ones you wish to work with.

Once you open your images you should see them
in your "Files" palette on the right of your main
work area. If you do not see the "FIles" pallete...
go to... View / Files. Also if you do not see your
"Stack" on the right of your screen...go to...View /
Stack.

The Files palette shows thumbs of all the open
images. (These are the ones you can left click /
drag onto your current project).

The Stack shows all the components of the
currently selected project.

Now the instructions I previously wrote for you
should make more sense.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

I unchecked the show on startup items unsuccessfully
When I open up 3 pictures it only shows one of the stack even though it
shows I selected three and they are hilighted
I still whnet on with the Control N for the canvas size. It will not allow
me to uncheck the maintain proportions box it is all grayed in.
I finally cancelled and when it was shutting down it showed 3 big pictures
disappearing one by one even though the stack showed only one.

Any new thoughts? Thanks

Good.

=======================================
The "Stack" displays the content of the
project currently displayed in your work
area.

The "Files" palette shows thumbs of all
images that are currently open. You can...
Left click / Drag...images from your "Files"
palette onto the project currently open in
your work area.

Both of these palettes should be visible
on the right of your screen. If not...you can
go to..."View" and select them.
=======================================

=======================================
Ok...Ctrl / N...places a New 4x6" Blank Canvas
in your work area. To resize it you would go to:
Format / Resize image.

Now, here's a step I forgot to include in my
previous message....

Tick the "Resolution" option and your "Maintain
Proportions" option will become active.

Now...you can resize the canvas to what ever
you require.
=======================================
I finally cancelled and when it was shutting down it
showed 3 big pictures disappearing one by one
even though the stack showed only one.
=======================================
The "Files" palette would show thumbs of all three.
=======================================
Any new thoughts? Thanks
=======================================
No new thoughts...

If you carefully read and experiment with the
instructions I have posted you will learn.

The latest advice helped me tremendously now I just need to practice. I got
a collage done and tried to upload it for copies and it wouldn't upload
because it said it is a JNG file. I have normally uploaded JPG files. Was I
supposed to do something so that it would have converted automatically? Your
continued advice is extremely appreciated. Thanks

Meant to say below PNG not JNG instead of JPG. Not sure
wshat to do need JPG
===================================
Excellent, I'm glad you are making progress.

OK...the default format for saving a collage
would be .png-plus. The reason is because
the .png-plus format will save the layers of
the project. If you reopen it later you will still
have your layers.

For a .jpg version...all you have to do is re-open
the .png file and go to...File / Save As....
On your "Save As" screen...Open the "Save
As Type" drop window and choose JPEG.
