say i have set rng1 to A1:A10, rng2 to B1:b10, rng3 to C1:c10

when i do a for each loop, would ii be possible to use a variable to add
the number onto the rng?

No. you can't do anything like

for i = 1 to 3
msgbox (rng & i).Address
Next
