How can i set my footnotes to appear as a paragraph without each one
appearing on a seperate line?

Yes! With a technique you yourself taught! Select the paragraph mark
at the end of the footnote and format it as Hidden (Ctrl-Shift-H).

The reason I say "basically" you can't is that it does no good. Even if you
concatenate short notes in a single paragraph, Word still allows just as
much space for the footnotes as if they had been stacked, so you don't
accomplish any space savings.
