footnotes

How do I insert footnotes into an Excel spreadsheet? Is it even possible? I
don't find that subject in my reference books. Thanks for your time.

XL doesn't have any built-in footnote feature.

You could instead insert Comments, and have the comments print out at
the end of the sheet (File/Page Setup/Sheet, select the appropriate item
from the Comments dropdown).
