Footnote

Amy Blankenship

I am trying to insert a footnote into a document that has a numbered list in
it. When the footnote inserts, it inserts with numbered list formatting,
even when it is not inserted into the part of the document with the list in
it. I can remove the number formatting from the footnote itself, but the
little line above it also has number formatting and I can't get hold of it
to remove the numbering. Any ideas?

TIA;

If you used Normal style for your numbered list, the numbering may have
become attached to that style and "trickled down" to styles based on Normal.
This is why I advise using Normal style for body text (especially for
numbered items). Instead, use Body Text or List Number or some other
appropriate style.

To correct this specific instance, you could remove the numbering from the
Footnote Text style and from the Footnote Separator, but it would be better
to use the styles correctly.
