Footers and TOCs

I want to set up my footer with a special character (such as W-) before the
page number, and I want it to show up in my TOC. I have tried using a field
and several other things, but I can't get it to show up on my TOC.

I don't want to use Chapter #'s, because my document isn't in chapters. But
I do have modules that I would like to include in the page # on the TOC (1-1,
2-1, etc.).

Does anyone know how to do this?

You will need to Type in the characters that you wish to appear in front of
your page number and then insert a page number field. In order for this
numbering to go through your entire document, you will need to make sure that
"Link to Previous" which is available on the Header/Footer toolbar is turned
ON.

Chapter numbers (included via the "Include chapter number" option in Format
Page Number) are the only thing that will show up in the TOC, period. If
you can't find a way to use this feature, then you'll have to (ultimately,
when editing is complete) unlink your TOC and add the characters manually.
