I need to add/replace the four “apply layout slide†options now available in
the
Slide Layout Menu.

The new “slide layouts†will correspond to the multiple master that I would
create and need to “travel†with the presentation.

I’d send this file to about 2000 users. In a perfect world I would have one
title slide layout and four text slide options.

Unfortunately, you can't change what's listed in the slide layout task pane.
You also cannot add placeholders to the slide masters. But you can create
multiple slide masters that move the existing placeholders around. (Don't
delete them, or you'll end up with big white boxes on your slides based on
that master.)

You can create one title slide master and 4 text slide masters, no problem.
Each title slide master must be linked to a regular slide master, but a
regular slide master does not have to have a linked title master. So you can
have the one title master + linked slide master, and then you can have as
many as you need of the individual slide masters.

To apply a different master, you apply them in the Slide Design taskpane.
