Fonts changing between Excel and Powerpoint

Hi wondered if anyone can help!

I am using PowerPoint 2003
XP prof v5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600.

I have set up a workbook full of tables using Tahoma size 7 and 8, when
paste linking these in PowerPoint (Edit, Past Special, Paste Link, Microsoft
Excel object ...) the tables look fine, the minute i save the tables shrink
slightly and any fonts smaller than 8 turn into "small fonts" some kind of
system font and not Tahoma as set. If I paste these tables in as pictures I
dont have the problem.

I tried Tools, Options, Save, Font options for current document only, Embed
TrueType Fonts (ticked) and click Embed characters in use only (best for
reducing file size), this fixes the problem and the size of the table is
exactly the same.

Problem is when you save the file the warning comes up

Some of your fonts cannot be saved with the presentation
Small Fonts Not Installed

It also caused no ends of other problems and is NOT a workable solution.

Question:

What do I need to install to get rid of this? I need to be able to link
excel tables with the fonts smaller than 8 and for them to be identical in
both excel and powerpoint

Thank you for listening :D

Hi,

First I'd try this stuff and see if it helps:

Thanks Glen,

Unfortunately it is tables rather than charts that are causing me the
problem. I set up my tables the exact size i need them to be so they fit
perfectly in my presentation. If I paste them as pictures all works,
however, I need them to be linked and this is when the fonts change and the
size shrinks!

As stated, I am using PowerPoint 2003
XP professional v5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600.

Not using VBA or any fancy macros add ins or anything else ... just using
the standard paste link option to place the tables from excel into powerpoint

Not sure what other information would be useful.

Thanks once again.

The problem is the size 7 and 8 fonts, as you know. Only real solution I
know is to increase the size of the font. 9 pt and above should work.

You should be able to make the tables smaller in PPT by right-clicking and
choosing Format Object. Then change the % on the size tab (be sure to select
"lock aspect ratio." People won't be able to read 7 and 8 point on a slide
anyway.
