How do I prevent fonts changing size when pasting a table from one PowerPoint
presentation to another?

Font face and size for tables is determined by the format of the text
placeholder on the slide master.

So I'd create a slide master that has the appropriate size setting in the
slide placeholder and use it for all slides you'll paste tables onto.

Don't you get a paste options box when you paste a table? Does that have any
options that help? If not, try Edit|Paste Special and see if one of the
options there does the trick for you.
