This subject may be in an old post somewhere but the search is not working so
I need to post again.
I am trying to change the font in the drop down menus. Not the title. I
found out how to change the title with appearance in desktop properties.[3d
objects]
When I look at window in appearance it only shows background color and text
is not available to change.
I am running xp media edition on Gateway dual core amd64.
All help is appreciated.

Hi Jerry,
Right click on the Desktop and select properties and on the Display window
click on Appearance Tab then click on Effecys button.
On the Effects window you will see check boxes and drop down selectors to
select which you want to perform like this:
[ ] Use the following transition effect menus and tooltips:
[ Fade Effect â–¼ ]
[ ] Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:
[ Standard â–¼]
[ ] Use large Icons
[ ] Show shadow under menus
[ ] Show window contents while dragging
[ ] Hide underlined letters for keyboard nav

To apply an option select it or tick the box.
Another is Control panel >> Accessibility Options
HTH.
Let us know.
Regards,
nass

You're having this problem because you're using the web interface to access
what is actually a Usenet newsgroup. The web interface is awful, and you
have seen one of the manifestations of that, search not working for some
people. For a much better experience use a newsreader for access. XP comes
with Outlook Express which can be setup for newsgroups. Here is a link with
info on how to do that.

The item you need to change is maybe the one called 'menu' or maybe
'icon'. The relation between the desktop appearance items names, and
what exactly they affect, is far from 1:1, and the names are not at all
obvious (as you figured out).

Hi N
I could not find any font changes in the area you descibe. Thanks for trying.

Hi G
Thanks for the try. I modified every item in the menu but none changed the
font in the drop down windows.
I will keep looking.

Ok, I just noted that in this last series of posts you were using the web
interface. Google Groups Advanced Search is a good way to search posts for
specific topic. You can search multiple groups, search on key words, date,
author, etc.

Hi Rock
I just finished setting up the Google search. Really good stuff!! Thank
you so much for the tip.
