font preferences in Windows XP

I know I should be able to RTFM, except that I didn't get one with the
software. How on earth can I get the fonts (for the windows, the menus,
etc, etc) to stay on my settings. I am really upset about having to
reset them all the time, to make them large enough for my poor old eyes
to see. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

You may not have gotten answers because you didn't tell us 1) how you are
setting the font sizes; 2) what happens when you do; 3) do the custom
settings disappear on reboot; 4) are you using Classic or XP theme? Etc.
Remember, we can't see your computer from here so you need to be
descriptive.

Presumably you are setting your custom font sizes in the Advanced section of
the Display applet and remembering to Apply/OK. Without knowing more, I can
only suggest you try MVP Kelly Theriot's tweak here:
