when i double click on a folder it used to open, when i right click on a
folder it used to have 'open' as the top item on the menu.
my 6 year old son has been playing. now if i double click a folder it goes
to 'search' if i right click on a folder the top item is now search. what has
my lad done and how do i put things back the way they were?

If your child made other changes, the easiest thing would be to do a
System Restore instead.
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

"Restore my computer to an earlier time".

thanks Malke, i gave up on system restore a long time ago, it won't restore
and even after reinstalling my system i had the same problem. i am thinking
of using Norton go back.
