Folders (read only)

Hi

Can you help with a read only problem attached to
accessing folders. When I deselect the read only option
on the folder menu then press ok and close the folder.
Upon reopening the same folder the read only is checked.
Can anyone help with this problem.

Hi Alan,

Ignore that setting--it does not apply and will always show as read only.
Changes made at the file level instead of folder level will apply.

Hi Larry

Thanks for your help, unfortuantly I appear to still have
a problem. There are two computers accessing one folder
which contains a mail merge when you open the document it
opens as a read only what can I do to correct this
yesterday I upgraded one of the machines to XP pro from
98. Thanks for all your help

Hi Alan,
Have you tried changing the properties of the document itself?
The change should stick at the file level.
