Folders I Created in "Deleted Items" Disappearing.

Hi.

I have an automation program that reads the emails in the Inbox of a
"general purpose" mailbox that 2 people have access to. Once the emails have
been processed the program moves them to 1 of 9 folders I created in the
"Deleted Items" folder.
This program has been running for about a year without any problems when
about 2 weeks ago it reported an error saying one of the folders was missing.

I then noticed that another folder was missing and added them back in again.
Now the same 2 folders keep on being deleted and I don't know what to do to
prevent it. I asked our IT team to place a trace on it so I could see who was
deleting them but they are unable to do so because of the large volumne of
emails our company receives.

The 2 disappearing folders remain where they should be during the day but
when I check the next day they are gone!

The automation program has not been running for about a week now and the
folders still disappear so I know it's not the program.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

First, it's bad to expect things to survive in "Deleted Items". It's a trash
can.

Next, is autoarchiving running and possibly deleting things in that folder?

Hi Vince.

I had previously tried to create them as just folders in the mailbox but had
problems programmatically moving them. Only when I had them in the Deleted
Items folder did it work correctly.
This program has been running for about a year without any problems. No
program changes have been made. The program was not running for the past week
and the 2 folders still disappeared every day so I know it's not the program.

Dear oh dear. WHY in the "deleted items" folder? That folder is for email
YOU DO NOT WANT TO KEEP! Look up the definition of "deleted" in a
dictionary.
