Folders do not open in same window

Don Frey

I was changing my icons on some of my file extensions, and
I don't know what happened but my "open" commands were not
the default when I left. anyway so I made a new command
called open and had explorer.exe open it but now I can't
open a folder in the same window even though I have it set
to in the options menu and my explorer.exe is crashing
frequently. Am I using the right file to open file folders
and folders?

Hi Don,

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /i shell32

As for the explorer.exe crashes, an option would be to check off this
setting under Tools/Folder Options/View: Launch folder window in a separate
process.

open any folders
tools
folder options
browse folders
select " open in same window.."
