Folder View

Paul

For some inexplicable reason, all my folders now open to
full screen and locked into details view. I have tried
changing individual folders and applying changes to all
folders, but there is no difference. If you close the
folder then open it agin, no settings have been saved.
I would like the folders open in a small window (restore
down) and some in details or in icons.

Any help is appreciated.

Delete the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU, both with
all the subentries, then create new keys "BagMRU" and "Bags" here.
This will reset the folder layout settings and should help here.

Hi Paul,

Run this edit, it includes Save Settings on Exit and will increase the
amount of folder views stored.

Run this edit, then reset your preferred folder options:

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

thanks for the help - I had this same problem a while ago and fixed it. Over the last week or so, I've noticed I lost the fix again. Any clues as to what would "unfix" it

thanks!

Which fix are you referring to?
