Folder Redirection GPO

T

Tom

I'm having some trouble with "My Documents" redirection in
a GPO.I've setup the GPO to use "Basic" setting and target
to "Create a folder for each user under the root" and root
path "//Domainname/Dfsroot" I'm suspecting using a Dfs
link to redirect too being the problem but it seems I
should be able to

Has anyone been successful with this, Or seen issues like
this.

Thanks Tom

Try using the other kind of slash - \

I assume users have full control permissions for "This Folder Only" on the
DFS Root.

I am also having a similar problem. I have user's My
Documents folder being redirected via GPO. The home
directory configuration points to a DFS share.

Windows XP workstations work just fine. Windows 2000
workstations log the following error in the event log:

The Group Policy client-side extension Folder Redirection
was passed flags (0) and returned a failure status code
of (4350).

and

Failed to perform redirection of folder My Documents. The
full source path was C:\Documents and Settings\user\My
Documents. The full destination path was \\%HOMESHARE%%
HOMEPATH%. At least one of the shares on which these
paths lie is currently offline.

I have other DFS shares that are getting mapped correctly
in a login script. I have even changed the home
directory path to a standard UNC path. I still get the
same error when I do this.

Any ideas of help would be greatly appreciated.
