Hi, I am wondering why I cannot access a folder and I get the message
C:\New Folder is not accessible. Access is denied.
I have created a new folder on the c:\ drive, removed the inheritance
of the folder and added a global security group called Test. I have
given Test Full Control permission.
The only member of Test group is my user account User1. The folder is
being accessed locally and is not shared.
I am logged in to XP Pro as User1, the effective permission for User1
is Full Control yet I get the access denied error message shown above.
user1 is Owner of folder. It is part of a domain with Windows 2003 DC
in 2000 native domain functional level.
Am I missing out any details? I should be able to assign the
permission to the group and access the folder logged in as a member of
that group right??
thanks,
Brendan.
