Folder permission

Hi... I like to prevent users from deleting files on a
windows 2000 server...so i setup on the shared folder
security tab, advance deny delete, but users cant not
modify any file now...why?

Because to "modify", they really are deleting the file that is there and
saving a new one by the same name ...
