Folder Ownership

Hello,

Trying to give a user the "take ownership" of his own folder on his desktop
"My Documents"; but unable to. Its currently assigned to administrators.

The message that pops up says:

Unable to view permissions for this folder, and then everything is greyed out.
Does anyone have any ideas, please help me.

Thank you

The user's My Documents may already be configured with a grant
of Full Control for the user, and no other grants.
Try looking at it from a log in session by that user.

Thank you for your reply.

I tried it from a long in session; but still the same thing. When I log in
as administrator his name does not appear at all only
administrator/administrators.

Any other ideas Roger?

It could have some corruption.
Can you list out the NTFS permissions at cmd prompt
using xcacls ??

Go the My documents folder right click propeties on the go to the security
tab..
there @ the user. once user is added go to advanced tab near the bottom
right of windows..
once in there got to take ownership and select the user. then click on apply
and o.k and it should sort it out...
