Folder details reset every now and then

I configure a folder to for a certain display (e.g.,
tiles) or details with certain options (e.g., duration and
bit rate). However, the folders decide to reset themselves
every now and then for no apparent reason (tiles turn into
details, and duration disappears and date created
appears). This happens to some folders but not others.
I have WinXP and folder options tasks is not set to Win
Classic. I have also checked "Remember each folder's view
settings" I do not enjoy customizing my folders to have
half of them decide to reset themselves. Any suggestions
would be welcome. Thanks.
