floppy

i just got my computer back from a tech a few days ago, i
have xp,and now when i go into my computer there is no
longer a icon there for my floppy. the page looks
different now as well there used to be two sections to
the page now there is just the one. when i right click on
a file i used to be able to send to floppy, that is not
possible for me now either. does anyone out there know
how i can fix this?

It probably is not to difficult to fix, but if you paid someone to fix whatever problem you had, and this was the result, don't you think that tech should fix what they messed up?

i will be bringing the computer back to them in two days.
they are not open tomorrow and unfortunatly i need to use
the floppy tonight. any other advice?

Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, Device Manager button, see if
you have a Floppy Drive listed.
If not, then I suspected a cable is not connected. Call the tech.
In My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, General tab, under Tasks, click on
'Show common tasks in folders.'

Put a floppy containing files in the floppy drive.
Start, Run, 'cmd' without the quotes, Enter.
'a:' without the quotes, Enter.
'dir' without the quotes, Enter.
'exit' without the quotes, Enter.
Did the list of files display?
I don't know how it would happen, but is it possible the floppy drive is
hidden?

Yes, you can hide any drive. TweakUI can do it easily.
