I recently purchased a new Dell laptop that had Windows XP
factory installed. I also purchased a floppy drive
module. The problem is that it takes forever for the
floppy drive to read a Word document. Calling up the
document goes along pretty much like a Word document
should until you double click the file, then it really
takes a long time to come up. If I go directly to Word
then open up the file within Word, it works fine. I tried
contacting Dell and they were at a loss to explain it. My
Windows ME on my PC works just fine. Even my Windows 98
on my old laptop works just fine. It's just this "new"
and "improved" Windows XP that is the problem. IDEAS??
