floppy drive

un able to format drive in xp home i do the format disk
utility but it says it cant format does it mean i have a
bad floppy drive or what else can i do ?

You don't have the write protect tab in the "protect"
postition, do you?

it should be down. if there is a "hole",
you can *not* write to the disk.

To write, the little tab should be blocking the hole...
