Under Windows XP Professional i always see floppy drives show in Device
Manager as "floppy disk drive". But do any floppy drives have proper
hardware ID?

Meaning a Sony floppy drive is displayed as "Sony floppy disk drive"?

What, if any, floppy drives have built-in hardware ID?

All the OS can see, is the controller really.

None. Floppy drives are dumb devices.

Well, USB drives might, but they would ID the controller, not the
drive itself.
