Floppy Drive not working

i can read a floppy, but when i try to write, i get error
message that the floppy is write protected - it is not!
 
You need to slide the little black piece of plastic down to cover the
hole. You can also use a piece of tape to cover the hole. The write
protected is on the physical floppy itself, not within Windows.
 
That is not the problem - it is a windows problem
