Floppy drive not recognized

After an upgrade to XP Pro from Win98, my floopy is not recognized. In device manager it has a yellow !. I can reinstall the driver and it works fine until the pc is rebooted then it goes back to yellow !. The BIOS sees it and I can boot to a floopy but once the OS loads it is gone. I have changed cable, floppy drive and have done an XP repair.
 
Right click on the Floppy drive and choose uninstall (in Device
Manager). Now reboot and let Windows reinstall the hardware completely.
If that doesn't work, post a follow up ;)
