floppy drive missing

Emachines T3302
512RAM
160GB HDD
Came without floppy drive. Installed one and worked fine for about a week.
After being prompted by windows security about updates and did them all on a
dialup...weeks later I have no floppy on Windows XP Home Anyone have any
ideas how to add it back?
ran Adaware PRO
AVG PRO
MsAntiSpyware and looked in the registry under RUN for anything NOT NORMAL
 
is it still enabled in bios?
does it show in bios when booting up?

does it show up in "device manager" and "My Computer?

does light flash on drive at all?

check power and ribbon cable at drive and MB!!
