Floppy Disks Saving

Hi
I've just installed the latest security updates and this seems to have
caused problems with the floppy disk drives. I can open a document from the
floppy, but as soon as it tries to save it back, the PC crashes. This occurs
in both the A: drive, and on an external USB floppy, as well as any profile.

Hmm... This seems to be a confirmed bug with the most recent rollout. I
don't want to suggest you uninstall it unless you have to. In the mean time,
until this has been fixed, I'd suggest saving in a format other than .doc if
possible or to another media type.

Hi

Thanks very much for that.

The only problem we have is that Group Policy is set so no-one can gain
access to the hard drive (it's public machines, so we don't want them playing
with the Windows files!), so they are restricted to using the floppy drives.

Does anyone in Microsoft know when the bug will be fixed?

Thanks again!

Sorry for butting in, but my company is experiencing the same issue. Galen
wrote that this is a "confirmed bug with the most recent rollout". Is this
documented somewhere so I can pass this along to my network administrator
because until I seen this post we were all in the dark about this? If you or
anyone could help me that would be great.

You're welcome.

Yup, thanks again Bob because I'd lost the link for that already. (I lose
everything it seems.)
