I have a disk that was formatted in win 2k. When i try to
use it in a win xp maching is either give me an error
message (something to the effect that the file does not
have an address on the disk) or tells me the disk is not
formatted. What is going on? I need these files very bad!

XP can be a real pain where floppies are concerned. One possibility is
to format a different disk using XP, then copy the files again onto
this floppy from a different machine. Or if you have access to a
different computer, email the files to yourself as an attachment.
Bottom line, though, is that you will almost surely need a different
computer as intermediary unless, say, you have a different type of
Windows on a separate drive.

Agreed. As annoying as it is. XP likes to use it's own formatted 1.44s.
