Sometimes, when i have been using the computer for over
an hour or sometimes under I open a shortcut by double
clicking it from desktop or clicking it once on menus the
computer trys to access a floppy disk, even when one isnt
in there!
This noise is very annoying plus it happens all too often.
It can also happen randomly in that when i log on and it
loads the system tray icons. I recently disabled the
Quicktime system tray icon because it looked to floppy
disk continuously, even on my Win98 machine.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance

Do you have anti-virus protection? Some anti-virus program scan the floppy
drive(s) during access.

Is XP indexing service or Office Fast Find feature turned on? These scan
for files and could access the floppy drive.

I do have Norton Interenet Security (which has Norton
Antivirus) but when i am double-clicking the shortcut no
reference is made to A:\ or any subfolders only C:\ which
means that floppy disk drive is not being accessed at all
and yet it looks for a floppy disk...

Dont use Office, only Works and i think any fast find
service is disabled...
Dont know if XP indexing service is on or not...
I still need help, sorry
