Floppy and CD not accessable - XP home

A: drive & CDROM D: when accessed generate reply message:
(Dr A is not accessable - incorrect function

Both work fine in dos at bootup if I use windows 98 boot
floppy for example.

I can reload XP home and both work fine for a while then
cease to function.
I have also tried to restore to earlier time - no effect.
Also disabled all programes running through msconfig
startup.

I dont have Easy CD Creator - are using Nero 5.5 This
problem also effects floppy drive?

Hi Jim,

You may check and delete teh UpperFilters key if it is still there.

I dont have Easy CD Creator - are using Nero 5.5 This
problem also effects floppy drive?
