Floppy (A) Drive

I have a floppy drive in my PC. In Windows Explorer it clearly shows as a
valid drive.

But when I put a disc in, a message comes up to the effect "Please insert a
disc in Drive A and try again".

Thoughts?

Under XP in the same box (upgraded from XP PRO SP2 to Vista Home Premium ...
no probs) it showed AND was usable.

I had a similar problem, I check and the floppy power wire to the floppy was
not connected. I connected the power wire and the problem was gone.
