Floating Drop Down Boxes

I would like to put a Combo Box in my form that allows a user to select an
option that will be recorded int he database. When I have tried to create one
it just appears on top of my existing work.

I am fairly new to Access and I'd apprieciate any advice!
 
It appears on top of your existing work? It should be created in the form
where you click with the mouse. It will be created with a default size. If
there isn't space in that location for it, it may overlap what is already
there. To solve this just drag it to where you want it or resize the box.
