Flip 3D

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1420 and it's enabled with a nVdia 8400 GS card.
my problem is that whenever I flip between windows, the motion appears
jittery and not smooth as my friends' similar laptop. My screen is a high
resolution screen (1440X900) where as my friends is a 1280X800 one. Could
this be the reason? Or is it a performance issue which will be fixed in SP1?
Not only that flip 3d is slow, minimizing and maximizing the windows are also
jittery.
Any help is appreciated...

Compare your Vista graphics performance scores with your friend's.
Try reinstalling/updating the graphics driver or a lower resolution - if
possible.
Try allocating more RAM for the graphics card in BIOS - if option is
available on your notebook.

This is a classic problem with the display. Some things you can test.

Set the resolution for the screen back to the recommended, native
resolution.

Check for the latest drivers for the installed video card. If none are
available, try reverting to one the older drivers.

Make sure that the Refresh Rate is supported by the system. Try different
refresh rates.

Turn off some of the visual effects in Performance Options/Visual Effects.

Anything that you can do to take some of the work off of the video
card/monitor will probably help.
