Flickering Screen

My screen appears to have flickering thin broken lines running through it
every now and then when i can be using any program or connected to the
internet, all my drivers are up to date...........what causes this?

First check the cable running from the monitor to your computer. Make
sure it is securely fastened and no pins are bent or broken. If it is
secure and all the pins look OK, then connect the pc to a different
monitor. If there is no problem, you know your original monitor is
toast. If the problem goes with the pc, try a different video card. If
putting in a different video card solves the issue, then you know your
original video card is toast.

Might also check the screen refresh rate, make sure your computer and moitor

Good point. Thanks for adding that. Sometimes we techs forget to check
the simpler things first, like "is it plugged in?"! ;-)
