Flickering Icons

My desktop icons flicker intermittently. When I open programs, Windows
Explorer and during and/or after various software updates (Windows and
others). I never loose the icons or have system crashes or lockups, they
just flicker at various times throughout the day. I have never had a
functionality problem, it's just irritating. Has anyone else had or fixed
this?

Hi Ron,

You may need to simply update or reinstall the video display drivers. Do not
rely on Windows Update for this, but rather get then from the manufacturer's
web site.

Hi Ron,

In addition to Ricks expert advice.....

It many cases I have seen this happen when the desktop/system refreshes for
whatever reason and/or the icon cache not being set high enough. Try either
or both and good luck:
